About Our Lake House - Lake Sundown

This beautiful lake home and acreage is located on two private lakefront lots, creating the ultimate balance of lake enjoyment, scenery and relaxation. 

The home is a custom 4-Bedroom / 3 bath home with over 2,600 square feet of finished living space. This home is set up to accommodate just about any sized group or gathering! A large living / dining area on main floor with a kitchen bar and a large stone gas fireplace.  A large composite deck with extended covered roof is our favorite place to relax and unwind while enjoying an elevated view overlooking the lake.  The property itself combines over 300 feet of private waterfront property along with a 7-10 acres of timber and prairie.

The lower concrete patio has another beautiful view of the lake and property.  The walkout basement leads right to an outdoor fire pit area perfect for enjoying a fire and the outdoors.  The property includes access to an awesome floating dock system with a deep swimming / fishing cove.  The dock offers great fishing and is a fun spot for swimming and enjoying the lake. 

Sundown Lake is a private 440 acre lake that offers great fun year-round. Guests of the lake house can access a private beach and can use canoes, kayaks, tubes etc while enjoying the private lake. Winter sledding, ice fishing and ice skating are also popular at the lake.

Lake Sundown is 5 miles east of Moravia, Iowa and is an easy 10 mile drive from the very popular Lake Rathbun area.  Located only 1.5 hours from Des Moines and 2 hours from Iowa City, Lake Sun Down is truly one of Iowa's nicest, cleanest, hidden treasure private lakes!
